The depth of the designs  reminds me of the Pointilism of Georges Seurat as portrayed in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". From a distance,  you see bold swirls of contrasting colors. Up close, you see the "mosaic within a mosaic". Each band of color consists of aggregates of dozens - maybe hundreds - of tiny "3-D" particles at different depths & of similar colors, divided by finely crafted golden striations, & polished to perfection.
 
It could be "interpreted" as "Artsy", "Native", or "Bohemian" - or just plain bold & unique. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..
 
I used to collect handcrafted Tribal & Unique jewelry when I was a stockbroker in the 1980's. The mother of one of the women in my office traveled the world & collected unusual jewelry. This is one of the sets I bought from her.
